Job Title: Sr. Facilities Manager with LEED AP Accreditation
Job Location: Heathrow, FL
Job Region: US/Canada/Mexico
Salary: Negotiable
Requirements:
- You are a seasoned business professional who has 8 to 10 years in or near the business of Facilities Management.
- You have a business or technical degree, or the equivalent.
- You have developed a level of content expertise in buildings and their systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), but not necessarily as a hands-on practitioner.
- You may hold an industry designation such as a CFM, FMA, CEM, MCR, etc.
- You have passion around "green buildings" and have or
are working towards a LEED AP accreditation.
- You have a good understanding of why uptime is important to a high-tech company like Symantec.
- You have solid communication skills, in that you are as comfortable presenting to a group of executives as you are engaging in technical discussions with practitioners.
- Last but not least, you
already embrace the core values of Symantec: you are innovative, action oriented, customer
driven, and trustworthy.
Description:
This role is all about "stopping and thinking" rather than simply "going and doing". As a
Program Manager within Global Facilities, you are responsible for needs-assessing, developing,
improving, and overseeing the delivery of several key global programs that impact the
workplace at Symantec. Current programs under management include Energy Management;
Sustainability/Green Buildings; Critical Operations (Uptime); Tools & Technology;
Outsourcing; to name a few.
As a Program Manager, you "own" the following for each program: the business case; the
charter; the roadmap to implementation; the performance metrics; the continuous improvement
opportunities; and the management reporting. What you do not "own" in most cases is the day to
day delivery of the programs; each program will be delivered by operational peers and partners
at each of our locations. Therefore, to be successful in this role, you need to be very comfortable
separating yourself from delivery and attaching yourself to the concept of enabling and
influencing others.
You will report to the Sr Director of Global Facilities.

The PCI Gaming Authority is seeking a Director of Facilities and Grounds for the new Wind Creek Casino & Hotel – a Poarch Band of Creek Indians gaming resort being developed in Atmore, Alabama. More information is available at www.pcigaming.com.
Currently underway on the site of the original casino established in 1985, the new 390,000+ square foot, $250MM destination is scheduled to begin opening in December (the topping out ceremony for the 17-story building was held in April). It includes a state-of-the-art casino with 1,600 electronic bingo games, a 236-room hotel, a major entertainment area that includes a +1,000-seat outdoor amphitheatre, and food service and other retail amenities.
Reporting to the General Manager, the new Director will be responsible for all aspects of facilities and grounds maintenance and engineering at this customer-focused destination. The successful candidate must demonstrate:
- compelling leadership and strong management experience with a customer service bent; the ability to recruit, train, motivate and evaluate a collaborative employee team; a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude; someone who can plan strategically for long-term capital needs and execute tactical day-to-day maintenance schedules;
- at least eight to ten years’ of facilities maintenance management experience in a complex “24/7” environment with a keen customer focus; gaming experience is a plus but resort, hotel, university, hospital or related “never close” operations experience also qualifies; experience with a facility larger than 300,000 square feet is preferred;
- the ability to ensure that the grounds and physical facilities – and all equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, kitchen and roofing systems – are functioning efficiently; solid understanding of compliance with building and safety codes, hazardous waste handling and disposal, and OSHA regulations;
- budget development skills; familiarity with Microsoft office applications and work order software; the ability to read blueprints, drawings and related materials; someone who can prepare and negotiate service agreements and contracts;
- undergraduate degree and CFM professional designation are required.
