Editor:
How did you get started in Facilities?
David: After graduating from PennState in 1984 with a BS degree
in Industrial Engineering, I started my Facilities career as plant
layout engineer working at the Martin Marietta Orlando Aerospace (now
Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control) facility located on Sand
Lake Road in Orlando, FL. The subsequent 25 years were spent
working in various Facilities Management roles with numerous Lockheed
Martin business units. In addition, I held executive FM positions in the
commercial industry working for two separate global IT companies. My
current position is Director of Facilities & ESH for Lockheed
Martin Simulation, Training & Support, a global business unit of
the Lockheed Martin Corporation, headquartered at our LakeUnderhill
campus in Orlando, FL.

A Message from Our President-
Attention
Chapter Members!
Now is the time to go to your supervisor and express the importance
making an investment in having the facility person attend this year's
IFMA World Workplace in Orlando, Fl. Inform your boss that the
conference and expo is a valuable ROI benefit to a business' bottom
line.
More importantly, it demonstrates the organization's commitment to the
professional and educational growth of the facility person, who just
happens to manage the organization's second largest asset, its
buildings. This by the way directly affects the organization's largest
asset, its employees.

IFMA
Orlando Helps Members Out In This Tough Economy!
Reduced Rates for
members seeking employment
Educating our members is the number priority of the
Orlando Chapter of IFMA and that is why we provide monthly programs
based on the nine IFMA competencies and offer CEU's and CFM maintenance
points. We also understand it may be difficult if you are unemployed
to attend these functions and pay out of pocket expenses.
Therefore, effective immediately, for all unemployed IFMA Orlando
Chapter members, we will offer a 50% discount to attend the monthly
programs. So, when RSVP'ing for the program, just advise Renee, chapter
Administrator, that you are currently unemployed and you will only
be charged $12.50 to attend versus the normal member fee of $25.
The chapter will pick up the remaining portion of the program fee.
